Which Pack Is Right for Your Project?

Every pack contains the same complete system - the difference is how much surface it will strip. As a guide (actual surface stripped, based on pack litres):

Pack Pack litres Strips approx.* Typical projects*
Pack A 2L 2–8 m² One to two doors or four chairs or a large dining table or a four sash window
Pack B 5L 5–20 m² Two to five doors or a dining suite or a room of skirtings & architraves or a small car (e.g.Mini)
Pack C 10L 10–40 m² A room or two of joinery or floors or a regular car body (e.g. Mustang) or a small boat
Pack D 20L 20-80 m² Villa weatherboards or whole-house joinery or large floors or heritage projects

*Coverage depends on finish thickness — thin varnish strips approx. 4 m² per litre; ultra-thick, many-layered paint approx. 1 m² per litre. The ranges above run from ultra-thick to thin.

Rule of thumb: old villas and layered lead paint sit at the thick end of the range; single-coat varnish and stain at the thin end.  Or take the guesswork out entirely: call 0800 678 678 or email us photos of your project and one of our experts will help size it for you, free.

How much Stripper does my project need?

Tell us what you’re stripping and we’ll estimate the Cooper’s Stripper you need and the best pack to start with.

Please enter at least one measurement or item above so we can calculate an estimate.

This is a guide only — actual coverage depends on the type and thickness of the old finish. Strip a test section or piece first, then order Stripper Refills for the rest. Not sure?

Every Pack Contains the Complete System

  • Cooper's Stripper — the fast-acting, deep-penetrating dissolver that strips any paint and any varnish: lead paint, enamel, acrylic, 2-pack, powder coat, polyurethane, lacquer, shellac, oil, stain and antifoul. Non-caustic, non-acidic, low odour — and safe for wet lead paint removal with no toxic dust.
  • Cooper's Flusher — the waterless rinse that carries away softened finish and Stripper residue. No grain raising on timber, no rust on metal — so once dry, you refinish without sanding (provided no previous surface damage is present).
  • Professional spray applicators — applicator bottles with genuine Viton-sealed triggers, built to survive stripping solvents that kill ordinary spray heads in seconds.
  • The stripping tool kit — long-strand European steel wool, grit embedded pads and copper & brass detail brushes to lift the softened finish from flats, grain, carvings and corners.

Suitable for timber, veneer, metal, glass and masonry — and every item in every pack is available to reorder individually, so you only ever buy what you need.

Stripping Outside? Make Yours an Exterior Pack

Exterior projects play by different rules: weathered timber, paint driven deep into the grain, and detail work that calls for a firmer touch. You also shouldnt use Stripping Wool Outside. So we'll happily configure any Stripping Pack as an Exterior Stripping Pack - at no extra cost:

  • The stripping wool is exchanged for extra Grit Embedded Pads - the outdoor workhorse, ideal for lifting finish that has penetrated deep into weathered grain
  • The copper detail brushes are exchanged for slightly stiffer brass detail brushes, better matched to tougher exterior detail

How to order it: just leave a note in the order notes box on the checkout page — something like "Please make this an Exterior Pack" — and we'll tool your pack for the outdoors before it ships. Same pack, same price, ready for the weatherboards.
